Asko 1325 Dishwasher insulation replacement (sound or heat? not sure)?
I have an Asko 1325 dishwasher that has recently been attacked by rats. They tore through all the insulation that was along the outside of the dishwasher. I don’t know if this is just sound proofing or heat insulation, but it covers the outside of the dishwasher (which is mounted under our countertop. This is similar to the heat insulating liner of the oven (which I have also replaced – same problem).
I can’t seem to find a part that corresponds to this item, so I’m wondering if I can just go and buy some insulation or an easier to cut insulating board (used for wall sound or heat insulation) that would do the same function. Any suggestions as to if this is even okay or of a product that would provide superior sound dampening or insulation (not sure if insulation is even required)
It is for sound. These systems do not get anywhere near hot enough to be a fire hazard. That is not to suggest that the heat-insulation values are not useful to keep the adjacent cabinets and the counter top from getting too warm and possibly warping, or the laminate separating. But that is a relatively small issue. Fiberglass or compressed wool is typically used for flexibility and low cost, not for any other reasons.
Interested in other’s dishwasher problems.?
I’m curious about the problems other people have with dishwashers. I recently had mine repaired as it wasn’t draining properly. Turned out to be a technical problem as I always give my dishes a quick rinse and discard of any food scraps in the garbage. At first I thought it was gilded transfers coming away from wine glasses after a huge reception we had in February, but the technician said that wasn’t the problem after all. It actually needed parts to be replaced. I’ll be interested to hear of other people’s problems. Thanks guys! -:)
Well my dishwasher is my partner and he breaks down frequently, just needs a kick in the pants and he starts working again lol, but my sister in law has had trouble with hers but my brother keeps fixing it, drives her mad cause she wants a new one, same with the washer and dryer and microwave, she wants to replace them cause they’re getting old but he keeps on fixing them, but she got her way with a new washing maching because its in a closet under the spiral stair case and the one she had was too big to fit, so she scored a new one and I scored her old one, yes hers has broken down, mine sprung a leak but yep, my brother fixed it again lol
Where can i find dishwasher racks?
I need to replace the racks in my dishwasher, and of course thats not part of the warranty. GE wants over $100.00 a piece, a couple more hundred I could have the whole thing. Where might I find cheaper racks? Or are any compatible with other models?
Its a GE model # gsd6100k00ww
Thanks
Look in your yellow pages under "appliance-parts and service". Find a dealer near you and have them price them out. If you can, get the part number from them and you can search it online. Hope this helps.
EDIT: Did a little research and found the rack for you for $55.00 Good luck.

Do I need to sterilize the baby’s bottles and parts if they have been run through the dishwasher?
My daughter is 5 days old.
no, the dishwasher’s water is hot enough that it sterilizes everything for you
How to install a dishwasher with no existing hookups?
Our house didn’t have a dishwasher, so I’m starting from scratch. Everything I’ve found online so far is for houses that were prepared for dishwashers beforehand. How do I put in a dishwasher and what parts do I need?
Well, you must nag at the husband for five hours at your most optimum bitchy vocal point…then proceed to pound him in the head with a pot…until he is too dumb to realize he has the right to say no to installing your DW….then he will do anything you ask of him. Good luck SIL
How difficult is it to replace a dishwasher timer dial?
I have a GE Hotpoint dishwasher (HDA2030). The dishwasher runs and the dial turns by hand, but the timer does not advance through the cycles by itself. I explained the problem to a service technician and he was confident that the timer was faulty. Of course, he said his charge for labor would exceed the cost of replacing the dishwasher.
I found a new timer part online inexpensively and planned on installing it myself. However, I haven’t found any manuals specifically for this model. I have seen repair manuals for replacing timers in non-GE and older Hotpoint dishwashers and it looks relatively easy to do, but I’m still searching for a repair manual for my model.
So, has anyone had experience replacing a dishwasher timer? I’ve replaced the dishwasher drain solenoid and other minor appliance repairs, so I’m somewhat confident in my abilities.

Dishwasher leaks at housing pump assembly?
QUESTION PLEASE :
My GE Dishwasher GSD4290 X72BB (See the Parts Diagram at http://lookup.partadvantage.com/lookup/ge/71904/00000487.i03# )
is leaking at the point where the gate shaft exits the housing pump assembly (Part #311).
Can I install new parts #415 and #417 (new gate shaft seal and push on nut) without removing the housing pump assembly?? Is it a fairly easy job?
Thanks for any help you can provide.
Check your seals also
It’’s always a good practice to replace all parts as long as you already have the unit disassembled
